Akra Appliance Repair is registered with the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS) — the state agency that licenses companies to legally repair household appliances. This registration authorizes us to perform appliance repair in California and requires us to follow the state's consumer protection rules for written estimates, parts, warranties, and invoicing.

Note: We are a repair company only — we do not sell appliances. (BHGS uses "Service Dealer" as the legal name for licensed repair providers.)

EPA Section 608 Certification

All of our refrigeration technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification, the federal credential required under the Clean Air Act to service, maintain, repair, or dispose of equipment containing regulated refrigerants. This applies to nearly every premium refrigerator, freezer, wine column, and built-in ice maker we work on — including Sub-Zero, Thermador, Miele, Liebherr, Viking, and Gaggenau sealed systems.

Certification ensures that refrigerant is recovered and handled safely, that leaks are properly repaired, and that your appliance is restored to manufacturer specifications without venting ozone-depleting or high-GWP gases into the atmosphere.
